Quality and Control

At CDG, our main focus is to ensure that we deliver Quality products to our customers and how we ensure that these efforts are aligned with customers’ and industry standards and needs. The maintenance of product integrity is top of mind and all our business process have been designed to ensure that it supports this objective.

Compliance to Good Warehouse Practice (GWP), as recommended by the Medicines Control Council of South Africa is but a minimum standard that we base our processes on. Control is established by following robust Standard Operating Procedures that are aligned with GWP and Global Best Practice in the handling, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
We have implemented a Continuous Quality Improvement Plan that is an ongoing effort to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, quality, or performance of services, processes, capacities, and outcomes of day to day operational activities.

High Quality Standards

On average, the centres receive about five million units and dispatch about four million units per month.  Close to 100 000 sales orders are packed and distributed each year, most of which are done within 180 minutes after receiving the sales orders. The centres receive on average about 100 pallets of goods per day.

Cipla’s distribution centres conform to the highest quality standards as prescribed by the Medical Control Council (MCC) and the South African Pharmacy Council. To meet these stringent requirements, all 72 Cipla distribution centre staff members are trained on Good Warehouse Practice (GWP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).

The Cipla Medpro distribution centres are managed by an experienced and well-trained team, who manage the entire supply chain, from planning and forecasting, cleaning and forwarding to warehousing and dispatch.
