Be Heart Healthy

In South Africa, the age-standardised death rates for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are now higher than those of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis combined, with cardiovascular disease being the leading category of NCDs1.

Identifying The Risks

Many people would be shocked to know that more South Africans die of cardiovascular disease than of all the cancers combined2. It is also a myth that heart disease only affects men3. It is vital for everyone to understand their individual risk profile, in order to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
